I got by with a little help from my friends.....Pines to the Mines 80 miles- Flagstaff to Jerome on Dirt

Oh boy the Pines to the Mines bike race- no bike ride.....I have come to the realization that the Garro name has now taken a back seat to endurance events....Well ok, maybe I only really ever had a middle seat anyhow. It is easy to feel so powerful when you have your own personal coach and partner to kick your ass on every ride. In the last 3 years our life took a shift. Well any how enough of all that. I just want to thank Dan Bergland for being so patient with me and my flats. since I was too weak to get my fricken tire off my rim....And thanks to Dan for also getting lost where I did so we could share that moment of disappointment when we ran into each other when we were lost. I tried to keep up with Dan on the endless dirt roads of pain from the sycamore rim trail to the Verde river, but I could not. I was getting my ass kicked by a single speed- I love it.....Great Job Dan......then thanks to all the supporters and John Zimmerman for sharing beer and some good laughs....Then THANK GOD for the sexy girls- Sara & Angela & of course the finely dressed man at the last Aid station- 5 miles to go and they had Tequila and PBR.........Scott Miller I was stoked to see you there and share some beer.....what a great time to regroup with I think 5 of us riders and drink beer to celebrate only 5 more miles. After some celebration, we started to pedal again to enjoy the last 5 miles with friends smiling with a good buzz on.............that all really made the ride.....then to get to the end with great beer, food & a band.....what a well put on event.........THANKS TO YOU ALL that help with the event..... I forgot the camera... I sure had plenty of hanging out to take pics... gosh there were some pretty views.....and flowers...... Also thanks to Sam Buchika for being there at the Verde......

And I just want to say a big Congrats to all you gnarly men and women that finished fast and did not even stop at aid stations......Right on..........

So my plan for next year is to start drinking beer before the last 15 miles....... and to not get lost.....Oh and to buy a new pump and have 2 tire levers....And to smile with all the uncertainties that I will face and pain....... Boy I am sure out of practice.....D

Also got out with Steve and the dogs enjoying the surroundings.....
Just when I thought I was all alone on the trail I got to ride with a large heard of sheep all around me on Sidney peaks trail. This is just a pic. of a few of them

cody has this strange habit of always getting some dirt in her diet on arm bike rides. She really liked this bit of dirt...

It has been hard to do another post to replace Suzie's. Those damn furry critters mean so much. Steve and I just got back from a great trip to Navajo lake/Brian head Utah....Great single track/ aspen fall colors of gold and some red. Too much wind to get the canoe off the old truck to fish though. I am proud of the old truck- running great.....hope all your lives are good....

She is deeply missed. Suzie die sometime yesterday evening on the pipeline behind our home. She was hit by a dirt bike. I have never had a critter quiet like her or has Steve. If you ever met her you will know her friendliness and sweetness. She was Steve's little girl.

amazing being out there with Steve and seeing him ride that trail so smooth......I was truly impressed his skill on that 3 wheeled bike has gotten quit good.

riding with Deanne the other day.....check out schultz tank continues to be full.....I remember many years it is dry by June.......
Yeh We see Norman on the trail......"What are those Republicans Saying", Norm says!!!!!!! At the end of our great ride I was thinking Gosh I have not seen Norman in 2 months and just then with in a minute of that thought there he was on schultz creek trail....
Fall is definitely in the air- secret trail....

Amazing watching Steve riding overlook trail yesterday. he really is mastering that 3 wheeled bike. his technical ability is great to watch. I wish I could capture it on camera.
