columbines on Schultz creek trail. not the clearest pics they are from my phone.
more columbines just beautiful.
Orion springs trail all buffed out...Recovering from my broken tibia just fine so far. Started riding my bike off the trainer last week......yeh.....today went for my 2nd ride out on the trails. The first ride I did not make it very far. Really trying to take it slow and not over do it. Today my 2nd ride on dirt was great, definitely tired at the end. Riding up Schultz creek trail I couldn't believe all the flowers especially the patch of columbines. Just beautiful. Boy Orion Springs trail sure got worked on and now is an easy climb. Kind of sad the last pitch of the climb has been shut down by the forest service. I came out across from New Ham trail. Itching to get into the Aspen trees I went up to Overlook trail. I layed down for a while in the aspen trees to rest my leg. I just went to the Overlook then turned around to down hill. I decided my broken tibia was not ready for Over look trail. Great to be up there. Leg still feels pretty good several hours later after the ride. Not bad for 4 1/2 weeks out since I broke my tibial Plateau. The ride across town back to the house was tiring. I was done. I layed down in bed for a little while. Still recovering and need to gain my fitness back......It is great to be back on the bike. The freedom to ride to work and leave the car at home....

We ran Overlook Mtn (in Woodstock, NY) the last two mornings... and we both thought that it just wasn't quite 'epic' enough for you. 8-)
Take it easy. You've got a few more decades of ganrly bike-riding to go.
